Welcome Girls!
Your first assignment is to purchase your book and then comment to this post about what you hope to gain from this book/bible study, a bible verse that means a lot to you and why, and just some general info about you (no pressure to share, only post what you are comfortable posting)! Let's try to have this done by May 3rd, and then we will move on from there! If you don't get it done by then, no worries! This is supposed to be fun!!! So no stress!!!!

ReplyDeleteRenee'
ReplyDeleteMarried to a wonderful husband. We have three awesome boys ages (20),(14) and (13).
I am looking forward to deepening my relationship with my Lord and Savior. I am also looking forward to meeting and walking with other sisters in Christ.
Verse:Psalm 139:23-24 (New International Version)
23 Search me, O God, and know my heart;
test me and know my anxious thoughts.
24 See if there is any offensive way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting.
I love this verse because it holds me accountable on my daily walk with the Lord
I'm also married to a wonderful husband (but it's not Renee's husband...that would be awkward). Have a 21 yr old daughter, Alex, and an 11 yr old daughter, Sierra. Trying to adopt a child through CPS, but could take forever. We have 6 pets that are also like children.
ReplyDeleteWhat I wanna get: Anything to continue the process of freedom in Christ.
I have many favorite verses, but the one God keeps putting on me lately is Colossians 3:2: Set your mind on things above and not on earthly things.
I am Stephanie and I am married to my huband Kevin of 8 years, and we have 2 beautiful children: Ryan who is 7 and he loves Star Wars and Computers and Lauren who is 4 and will have her first ballet recital on may 22!
ReplyDeleteI am so excited about this book study! I really wanted to do it when Beth offered it on her blog, but I was going through "Breaking Free" at the time, so I decided to wait. Kris, I'm gonna steal your words here, LOL, I want ANYTHING to help me continue in the process of freedom in Christ!!!!
I also have a several favorite verses, but since I just finished the breaking free study, this passage is speaking to me the most right now.
Isiah 61
1 The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me,
because the LORD has anointed me
to preach good news to the poor.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim freedom for the captives
and release from darkness for the prisoners, [a]
2 to proclaim the year of the LORD's favor
and the day of vengeance of our God,
to comfort all who mourn,
3 and provide for those who grieve in Zion—
to bestow on them a crown of beauty
instead of ashes,
the oil of gladness
instead of mourning,
and a garment of praise
instead of a spirit of despair.
They will be called oaks of righteousness,
a planting of the LORD
for the display of his splendor.
4 They will rebuild the ancient ruins
and restore the places long devastated;
they will renew the ruined cities
that have been devastated for generations.
I am Kela and I am not married (booo) and have no children (even more boo), but I do, however have a boyfriend of 11 years. One of the main reasons I wanted to do this study is because I was fortunate enough to attend the Beth Moore simulcast at Amarillo South Church this past weekend and learned so much. I knew that I would benefit more from actually getting to read the book and discuss it with other Godly women who want to grow in the Lord as well. My favorite verse is Ephesians 5:1-2 "Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children 2 and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God."
